For six years I lived in a multicultural neighbourhood. I heard many warnings about living there, because apparently it wasn’t that safe to live there. I never got problems though, nothing got stolen or damaged, and it was a great neighbourhood to live.
Since a couple of weeks I (temporarily) live in one of the ‘best’ neighbourshoods of the city. It’s definitely a big change, because there’s nothing ‘multicultural’, it’s just one type of people living there. You only hear positive stories about the neighbourhood.
When I walked to my bike this morning, I noticed something was different, but what was it? It seemed like something was missing on my bike. I found out someone stole my front bike light! I think it’s easy to demount the light from this particular type of bike. But still, I don’t understand why someone would do this. Stealing in such a good neighbourhood?!
Besides this stolen bike light, I like the neighbourhood. But I don’t know if I would live here permanently. It’s so different from the multicultural neighbourhood I lived for many years. I think I prefer the neighbourhood with a variety of people. It has a whole other atmosphere.
